[Fashion] ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK

ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK

Granted, most of us thought the new Netflix series, Orange is the new black was about fashion. I know
I did. I was surprised and impressed to find out it is about women in prison; the orange jumpsuits worn
by prisoners upon incarceration symbolizing the prison. We’ve all heard: White is the new black,
Brown is the new black, and Grey is the new black, so why not orange? Come on, American prisoners
can’t have all the fun. With the pop of orange into your outfit, you really don’t have to do much.

Here are ways to infusing orange into your wardrobe:

1. An orange blazer: I know most girls shop for black, brown, and grey…… basically solid colours that don’t scream look at me when going for blazers.

But the added colour of orange gives you the chic, trendy look without looking like you are trying too hard.

2. Accessories- One of my favourite looks is the all black but sometimes I get mistaken for someone in
mourning especially in our beautiful country,

Nigeria (people and their assumptions). So to make this look seem less depressing; add an orange
accessory like a bag or shoes to soften the look and stop the looks and questions

    3.    Well for you risk takers and colour blockers; another colour like fuchsia pink into the mix would really say something about your style but make sure to keep it to colours of the same palette.

    4. A beautiful orange dress speaks for itself………… like a big zit on the face. It centres the eyes on the
dress; so your accessories should be kept to a minimal so as not to be too distracting thereby looking
     like a rainbow.

    5. For lovers of skirts (mini, midi and maxi); an orange skirt, like the blazer adds the extra pop to your outfit.
